Thanksgiving Traditions

From Superior Trucking Payroll Service we wish you a very happy Thanksgiving! This year we want you to get to know the team at more of a personal level by sharing our Thanksgiving traditions. Everyone does something different on thanksgiving and we want to tell all of you what we do and maybe you could share with us what you do on your Thanksgiving, or you could get ideas from our thanksgiving traditions that you could do yourself.

Mike Ritzema – Founder & President:

During Mike’s Thanksgiving, he has a very nice dinner with all of his family with no rush. Having everyone home for Thanksgiving is great because his daughter is in college so he doesn’t get to see her that often. Along with the nice dinner, he and his family watch the Lions football game on TV. They also get out all of the Christmas decorations and set it all up for the next time everyone will get together.

Melisa Bush – Operations Manager:

Melisa also has a big dinner with her family except everyone in her family cooks. During dinner, everyone goes around the table and says what they are thankful for. The Saturday after Thanksgiving, she and her family go cut down their Christmas tree to finish off their Thanksgiving and their start of the Christmas season.

Brandon DiPiazza and Erika Heywood – Account Managers:

Brandon is Erika’s son so they have Thanksgiving together at Erika’s sister’s house/Brandon’s aunt’s house. They have a big dinner and then they look through the newspapers and plan out what stores they plan to hit up on Black Friday.

Harley Houlden – Implementation Specialist and Marketing Coordinator:

Harley and her Husband have Thanksgiving dinner with her husband’s parents. Then, everyone in the family draws names for one of the kids and one of the adults that they will buy gifts for Christmas. On the Friday after Thanksgiving, she and her husband decorate their house for Christmas. Then that weekend they have a late Thanksgiving dinner with her family. The meal they make can feed 20 people even though there are only eight of them.

Taylor Robinson – Account Manager

Taylor has a big Turkey dinner at her Grandma’s house. They then have all of the grandchildren, including her, make an assembly line for washing all of the dishes so the dishes get done in about 15 minutes. They then plan out what they will do for Christmas. Then her whole family draws names out of a hat for who they will get a Christmas gift for. 

Elisabeth Ryder – IT Special Projects

For Elisabeth’s Thanksgiving, all her relatives from WI, MO, and many areas around MI come to celebrate. There is a big dinner and she always makes sure she gets some cranberry sauce and honey-glazed ham. She always tries to get enough to eat but still leaves room for pie and whipped cream.

Tessa Braybrook – Content Marketing Associate:

Tessa normally has her Thanksgiving dinner at her grandparent’s house on her mom’s side. Before dinner, her family sets up all of the Christmas decorations for her grandparent’s house. Then after dinner, they have an early Christmas by playing Dirty Santa. There is a link to what that game is since it is very complicated to describe. 

Jasmine Perez – Account Manager:

Jasmine has her Thanksgiving dinner with her close family and friends. Everyone tends to share their favorite dish. After dinner, she and her sister will always watch a movie.
