In the notice, they announced the increase in per diem from $66.00 per day to $69.00 per day for travel within the United States. This increase may seem small but the impact on workers compensation insurance premiums and payroll taxes can be significant when multiplied by your trucking company’s driver count and number of days your driver is out.
Our advice on what to do with this notice is simple. Move your per diem up to $69 per day the first day that you are allowed (October 1). The longer you wait the more savings you miss out on.
