Let me see if I can explain per diem to you in a way that you can understand.
When looking at your paystub, say you made $1,000. And you have $200 in per diem. We are going to take that $200 of per diem off of that $1,000 gross pay and we’re going to stick it in a basket.
$800 is what’s going to be taxed on, instead of the $1,000.
Then you’re going to have all of your taxes and deductions taken out.
When you look over in reimbursements, you’ll see that $200 is placed back in to get your net amount.
